World-Renowned Classical Guitarist Will Perform at GCC

World-famous Argentinean Nestor Benito is one of very few classical guitarists in the world who play the 10-string guitar, and he is coming to GCC. Made possible by a grant from Arizona State University and co-sponsored by GCC's Music Department and International Education Program, the free concert will be held on Wednesday, September 22, at 7:30 p.m. It will be in MU2-151.

The 10-string guitar, invented in the early 1800s, is larger than a regular acoustic guitar, with a wider neck and extra bass strings. This instrument gives Benito's music a richer sound and allows him to play more challenging musical compositions.

He has performed in the U.S., Germany, France, Spain, Mexico, Brazil, Colombia, Honduras and more.
